The ABC has celebrated 12 months in the Triton Australian Podcast Ranker with record results for ABC NEWS titles.
In the latest rankings for November, released today, the ABC continued to hold the top spot in the news category with ABC News Top Stories, which placed at number three on the overall list and had 751,000 listeners across the month.
Four of the ABC’s podcasts covering news and current affairs achieved their highest listeners of the year: If You’re Listening (248k), The Party Room (103k), Not Stupid (95k), Global Roaming with Geraldine Doogue and Hamish Macdonald (81k).
PM climbed 27 places with Nightlife up 25 places and Hack was also up 15 spots in the November list.
For 12 months in a row the ABC has had more titles featured in the ranker than any other publisher. It has also held the No 3 publisher position in the ranker for the full year.
Across November the ABC had 2.727m monthly listeners, a 5.6% increase on the past six-month average. ABC podcasts accounted for 30 of the top 200, including four of the top 20.
This is in addition to the latest Ipsos Iris results which saw ABC NEWS again rank as Australia’s No 1 digital news brand with more than 11.7m Australians visiting across October.
“These results demonstrate the ABC’s key role in providing news, information and analysis for Australians across all platforms, however they want to access it,” said Director, News Justin Stevens.
